Agustín Tapia joins Audemars Piguet

Padel continues to move closer to the world of international luxury. This time, through Audemars Piguet, which officially announced Agustín Tapia as its newest brand ambassador.

Currently ranked world No. 1 and one of the sport’s biggest stars, Tapia represents a new generation of athletes capable of reaching far beyond their discipline. His style on court — defined by creativity, speed and an almost instinctive ability to produce impossible shots — has turned him into one of the most exciting names in modern padel.

The partnership also reflects something that has been building for several years now. After decades centered around Formula 1, golf and tennis, Swiss watchmaking brands have started paying increasingly close attention to padel, a sport with a young, international audience that continues to grow at remarkable speed.

For Audemars Piguet, the decision feels perfectly aligned with the world the brand has built over the years. Beyond titles and rankings, there is a clear attraction toward individuals with strong personalities, global appeal and a distinctive way of approaching their craft — qualities that Tapia naturally embodies both on and off the court. At just 26 years old, “The Mozart of Catamarca” has established a unique presence within the sport, combining technical brilliance, unpredictability and an effortless style of play rarely seen even at the highest level of professional padel.

The announcement also arrives at a pivotal moment for the sport itself. Alongside Tapia’s appointment, Audemars Piguet confirmed its role as Official Timekeeper of Premier Padel, further strengthening its presence within a circuit that continues to expand globally.

For years, the relationship between high watchmaking and sport was almost exclusively tied to tennis or motorsport. Today, padel is beginning to occupy that space with growing force. And Agustín Tapia joining Audemars Piguet feels like another sign that the sport’s global rise is only getting started.
