FEDERER ENTERS THE HALL OF FAME WEARING A ROLEX LAND-DWELLER
Roger Federer found himself overcome with emotion in front of the tennis world once again. This time, there was no Wimbledon final, no match point, and no roar from the crowd after one of those seemingly impossible backhands. In Newport, Rhode Island, the Swiss legend was officially inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame, wearing a Rolex Land-Dweller 40, one of the most important recent releases from the brand that has accompanied him for more than two decades.
One of the ceremony’s most emotional moments came before Federer even began to speak. Mirka, his wife and partner throughout virtually his entire career, introduced him on stage. Her words brought the former World No. 1 to tears, and the emotion continued as he later reflected on his family, coaches, and the people behind an extraordinary career.
Federer also spoke about the generations he shared the tour with, recalling names such as Andre Agassi, Lleyton Hewitt, Andy Roddick, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. His message also looked to the future, encouraging younger players to preserve the camaraderie of tennis, maintain their individuality and continue pushing the sport forward.

The numbers tell part of the story. Federer won 20 Grand Slam titles, 103 ATP tournaments and spent 310 weeks as World No. 1, including a record 237 consecutive weeks. But that night in Newport was mainly about everything that happened around those victories.
For one of the greatest honors of his career, Federer chose the Rolex Land-Dweller 40 reference 127334. Crafted in white Rolesor, combining Oystersteel and white gold, the watch features an intense white honeycomb-motif dial, a fluted bezel and an integrated Flat Jubilee bracelet. Inside is the Rolex manufacture calibre 7135, offering approximately 66 hours of power reserve.
Federer retired from professional tennis in 2022, but made it clear that his relationship with the sport continues. “I’m still writing my love letter to tennis,” he said during his speech.
Four years after his final professional match, tennis brought Roger Federer to tears once again.
