MAURO CARRARO PAYS TRIBUTE TO WATCHMAKING WITH A CHARITY ARTWORK
Art and watchmaking come together once again through Mauro Carraro, who presents Letter to Time, an artwork created especially to celebrate World Watch Day 2026, under the theme Time as Living Heritage.

Created using blue ink and 24-karat gold leaf on Arches paper, the 56 × 76 cm piece depicts a wandering-hour watch. The artwork reflects Carraro’s distinctive perspective on watchmaking, where every detail requires hours of dedication and exceptional precision.
The piece will be offered at a charity auction aimed at supporting the next generation of watchmakers. Proceeds are intended to benefit the Pierre Amstutz Fund, which helps students at the Geneva Watchmaking School continue their education, although the beneficiary’s acceptance is still pending confirmation.
Carraro has previously explored this connection between art and watchmaking through works inspired by independent watchmakers, including his artistic interpretation of Konstantin Chaykin’s Golden Mask.
Through this initiative, the artist hopes to help preserve a centuries-old craft, passed down from one generation to the next.
Those interested in discovering the artwork or participating in the auction can find further details on Mauro Carraro’s official website.
