Frederique Constant Introduces the Classics Moneta Solarmetre

The Classics Moneta stood out as one of Frederique Constant’s most distinctive launches when it debuted in 2024. Now, the Swiss Manufacture expands the collection with the new Classics Moneta Solarmetre, the brand’s first watch powered by the FC-120 solar caliber, developed by La Joux-Perret.

Visually, the watch remains true to the collection’s identity. Its slim 39 mm case is paired with the signature coin-edge inspired bezel that gives the Moneta its name, while a new grained dial is available in three colors: ice blue, burgundy, and cloud white. Dauphine hands, faceted applied indexes, and a discreet date window complete a clean, refined design.

The biggest innovation, however, remains completely hidden. The solar cells sit beneath the dial, making the charging system entirely invisible. As long as the watch is exposed to light, it continues running. In complete darkness, it delivers up to ten months of power reserve, and after that, just ten seconds of light exposure are enough to restart it. Even one minute of light provides enough energy for a full day of operation.

Each version comes with two wearing options: a leather strap and a stainless steel Milanese bracelet, making it easy to adapt the watch to different occasions and styles.

With the Classics Moneta Solarmetre, Frederique Constant introduces a technology rarely seen in traditional Swiss watchmaking without changing the character of the collection. The innovation stays hidden beneath the dial, allowing the timeless design to remain the focal point while adding a practical solution for everyday wear.
