LOUIS VUITTON BRINGS THE SPIN TIME INTO A NEW GENERATION

Louis Vuitton adds five new Tambour Spin Time references to its permanent collection, introducing new combinations of colors and materials. The green model in white gold is one of the highlights.

In early September, Louis Vuitton introduced five new Tambour Spin Time references, bringing one of its most recognizable watchmaking complications into the permanent collection. Its story began in 2009 with a completely different approach to displaying the time.

Instead of a conventional hour indication, Spin Time uses twelve rotating cubes positioned around the dial. The cube corresponding to the current hour rotates to stand out from the others and, when the hour changes, returns to its original position as the next cube turns. The system was inspired by the mechanical information boards once found in airports, a reference closely connected to Louis Vuitton’s longstanding relationship with travel.

The new series follows the Tambour Taiko Spin Time models introduced in 2025, but this time five models join the permanent collection. The lineup includes Spin Time, Spin Time Air, Antipode and Flying Tourbillon versions, with different combinations of white gold, rose gold and platinum, along with new colors and ornamental stones.

The green Tambour Spin Time Automatic, reference W9WGA2, is perhaps the most direct expression of this new generation. Its white gold case measures 39.5 mm in diameter and 12.15 mm thick, paired with a green dial featuring sunray and sandblasted finishes and a matching green rubber strap.

Inside is the automatic ST13.01 caliber, offering 45 hours of power reserve. The movement can be viewed through the sapphire caseback, while the watch offers 100 meters of water resistance.

The five new models are now part of Louis Vuitton’s permanent collection, expanding a family that has used its distinctive rotating cubes to display the hours since 2009.
