Panerai Introduces Two New Luminor Luna Rossa Models on the Road to the 2027 America’s Cup

With less than a year to go before the 38th America’s Cup, set to be held in Naples for the first time, Panerai reinforces its partnership with Luna Rossa by unveiling two new timepieces that reflect the spirit of a collaboration established in 2019. The Italian watchmaker introduces the new Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono PAM01768 and Luminor Luna Rossa GMT PAM01791, two models developed to meet different performance needs while maintaining the distinctive sporting identity of the collection.

The highlight of the Luminor Luna Rossa Chrono is the addition of a tachymeter chronograph designed to calculate average speed over a fixed distance, a function particularly relevant in the demanding world of competitive sailing. Limited to 500 pieces, it features a 44 mm steel case, the automatic P.9210 caliber with a 42-hour power reserve, and a new Velcro strap introduced for the first time in the Luna Rossa collection, offering greater comfort and practicality during active use.

The new Luminor Luna Rossa GMT takes a more versatile approach. Housed in a 40 mm steel case, it is powered by the automatic P.900/GMT caliber with a three-day power reserve and dual-time functionality. It also marks another first for the collection as the first Luna Rossa model to feature a stainless steel bracelet. Both timepieces offer 100 meters of water resistance and incorporate design elements inspired by the Italian sailing team, reinforcing a partnership that continues to evolve as Panerai looks ahead to the 2027 America’s Cup.
